What I love about St Ives is how it has grown up with me. As parents of small children we were looking for very cosy houses with cots and high chairs and all the rest that went with it. But now I need a lot more from my break.
My boys have grown which equals lots of surfing paraphernalia. We’ve acquired a lovely dog we love to bring with us on our holiday and we are so fed up of hunting around for parking all the time! All this means we need space and the facilities that go with a growing and demanding family and the convenience that comes with having a fantastic concierge service and parking at St Ives House, right on the harbour front.
St Ives House fulfils all our needs for a fabulous family holiday whether like me you have a large family or you bring the in-laws to babysit. You could even share with another small family with the kids sharing the twin room.
From the lovely early morning views of the sun rising behind Smeaton’s Pier from the kitchen/diner bay window, to the afternoon basking in the sun on the terrace sipping a glass of complementary champagne, St Ives House has the lot for me and for my family.
Ideally placed, the house is on the harbour front nestled between Pels takeaway and very close to the entrance to Fore Street. The boutique décor is reminiscent of the fabulous St Ives art scene with works from Millennium Art Gallery and Jo Downs glass adorning the walls.
The house sleeps six in absolute comfort and I can seriously say there is not a thing that hasn’t been thought about. From the ice machine and the coat hooks in the downstairs tiled cellar space, to the amazing designer nickel bath in the master bedroom’s ensuite, this house oozes boutique charm befitting of its fabulous setting opposite the Harbour slipway.
The three bedrooms are all served by their own bathrooms and a downstairs loo. There’s a fabulous concierge service, parking space close by that a taxi driver takes you to and from, a fabulous chilled bottle of champers as a welcome and an upstairs lounge complete with fully stocked wine fridge (honesty bar principles), smart TV with digital subscription and an Xbox for the kids. Oh and I forgot to mention membership to the nearby St Ives Harbour Hotel Spa and Gym is included – perfect for those off season autumn and winter breaks.
The owners have thought about everything and it really feels like a home from home with an extra helping of sprinkles on top.
