This dog friendly but rocky haven is not for the anyone with mobility issues. Accessed off the path behind the Lifeboat house, the tidal nature of this beach which lies between Porthminster and the Harbour, means it is always covered in rocks. But once you manage to master the rocky access (you can always access this area via the Harbour so long as you don’t have a dog with you during the day in summer). The views here really are lovely as you look beyond Smeaton’s Pier out into the bay and across to Gwithian.
It’s great for a paddle in the sea or an amble across the sands. If you don’t fancy the trip down onto the beach itself, you can always try wave dodging or just lean on the railings admiring the view in summer.
